Abstract


There are still many people who misunderstand to Islam, they equate between Islam and Muslims, so what happens to most Muslims is generalized into the religion of Islam or Islamic teachings. Impression that there is as if Islam is the religion backwardness, due to some Muslims are stupid, unable to unite, brutality, terrorism and promote violence. This is exacerbated by the number of Islamic countries or countries whose majority population of Muslims who are backward and do not have the prestige and power in the eyes of the world especially the western countries. Although in dejure or de facto state of Muslim-populated countries have been independent, but in essence they are still colonized both the ideological, political, economic, and cultural. Islamic education as applied by the Prophet Muhammad. when he emigrated to Medina, is the answer to the slap all those accusations. Prophet Muhammad. as a messenger at the same time as the head of State able to be a master of a shrewd and capable of carrying its passengers a plural ethnic groups, cultures and religions achieve prosperity, peace, freedom, equality and progress which be achieved by Muslim leaders after that. Likewise, the economy and education are growing rapidly at that time. They  had been bound by a law that was agreed and signed by the various components existed. The law was called the Charter of Medina. Medina societies life as led by the Prophet Muhammad was termed as civil a society by Indonesia prominent thinkers such as Nurchalis Madjid.
